About the Artist

Since 2003 I have lived in East Sussex with my partner Angie Roche. I graduated in Graphic Design in 1989, specialising in scientific illustration. Later I worked in community mental health, and it was while facilitating an art group in a day centre that I rediscovered my desire to paint. My favourite media are pastels, acrylics and photography, and after two decades as a Londoner, I never tire of the rolling downland that's now so close to home.

Angie and I are both members of Creative Co-op, a collective of artists in the Eastbourne area, and also take part in Eastbourne Artists' Open Houses. We are actively involved in the anti-war movement, and care passionately about civil liberties and the environment. We recently joined Sussex Wildlife Trust, which is the leading conservation group in East and West Sussex.

My other interests include listening to a very wide variety of music, reading, astronomy, archaeology, and watching tennis. And I'm very fond of cats!
